Microchipping

The love and bond you share with your loyal companion makes it hard to consider ever losing them. Sadly, it is very possible that you can be split up from them and not know where they are. Veterinary advancements have created microchips to be a permanent form of identification for your pet. A rice-grain-sized computer chip is inserted under their skin between the shoulder blades. This chip has a unique number linked to a database, where your contact information is stored. Once your pet is found by someone the possibility of you being reunited with your pet is high.

Why should I microchip my pet?

Microchips are a safeguard that you put in place before your pet gets separated from you. There is no telling what may happen or when your furry friend may get lost. By having a chip implanted, the chances of reunion are much higher. Even if you have other forms of identification on your pet, this chip is not exposed to weather elements so it won’t need repair or replacements. The chip will be effective throughout your pet’s entire life. When they are brought to a shelter or veterinary clinic the staff will always check for a microchip. Once a microchip is detected in your pet, you will be contacted and finally be reunited with your cherished companion.

Is it painful for my pet?

Most pets feel a pinch, similar to when they are getting injections. If your pet has a low-pain tolerance, they will be able to withstand the procedure without any drugs. If your pet is nervous about veterinary visits we are also able to perform the procedure during other scheduled visits while they are under anesthetic.

When should I microchip my pet?
